One of the best practices of a Filipino is to help their fellow Filipinos everywhere (Bayanihan). When the news about the eruption of Taal Volcano popped-up on our social media and breaking news on our televisions, everyone was alarmed especially people nearby Batangas. Every one of us wants to extend our help in just a simple way, cash donations, and relief goods from different organizations and individuals.
FEU-NRMF Batanguenos Para Sa Taal Relief Operation was a program to give assistance to the affected families of Taal Eruption. The Head of different departments and other employees of FEU-NRMF are Batanguenos; they support the program by giving cash donations, relief packs, used clothes, and personal hygiene kits for 300 families from a different evacuation center in Tuy, Batangas. As a representative of Batnaguenos of FEU-NRMF Dr. Abigail Elsie DG. Castro (Vice-Dean of School of Medicine) and Ms. Liway Talag (COO-Comptroller) are one of the FEU-NRMF employees, faculty, and student volunteers distributed the relief packs to the affected families.

West Fairview Elementary School (WFES) is located within a suburban neighborhood in West Fairview, Quezon City. It is approximately 830 meters away from FEU-NRMF. It has a roughly estimated population of almost 4,000 students as of S.Y 2019-2020.
The school was a former extension school of Fairview Elementary School who was built since 1974. The increase of population and danger in the students who are crossing Commonwealth Avenue (students who live across the school) came to a decision of requesting a building extension. Efforts made by Dr. Angelina Avestro and Former Bgy. Captain Antonio, the construction of the annex building started in 2001. While completing the construction, the school already opened and accepted 600 students and 20 teachers. Dr. Carmelita Pilaraza was the Officer-in-charge of the school. The constructed building has 3 floors with 12 rooms and was formally opened in July 2004 and named Fairview Elementary School Annex. A year after, the population doubled until in the year 2006-2007, a 3 shift plan schedule started. Issues encountered are the increasing number of students enrolled and a limited number of the teacher (1500 students: 21 teachers). In the year 2007, the school population increased to 1700 students while the teachers grow and became 26. At that time, the school is operating with no clerks, no telephone and has only one janitor. The new Principal asked assistance to the Mayor of Quezon City Feliciano “Sonny Belmonte” who provided a service vehicle, janitor and clerk. Congressman Annie Rosa Susano donated covered basketball court and telephone line. An additional building was constructed including a covered path walk, waiting shed, comfort rooms and other facilities like school clinic, principal’s office, and guidance room was installed to cater to the needs of the students.
